Nearly Five Decades of Impact

Established under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), AFRACA was formally created in 1977 in Nairobi, Kenya, following recommendations of the 1975 World Food Conference in Rome, as a pan-African network to coordinate rural financial services.

AFRACA holds FAO Liaison status and is an active member of the global RACA family, alongside APRACA, ALIDE, NENARACA and CICA, and serves as a continental platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and partnerships connecting member institutions across Africa.
