AFRACA digital services

Please read this document carefully. It explains the principles that guide your use of AFRACA's website and knowledge services.

1. Introduction

The African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website.

2. Data Collection

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:

  • Register for our Knowledge Management Portal (KMP).
  • Subscribe to our newsletters or news updates.
  • Contact us regarding membership or partnerships.
  • Register for events or forums.

3. Use of Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Facilitate regional technical cooperation (TCDC).
  • Provide access to specialized research and policy documents.
  • Communicate regarding continental agricultural finance developments.
  • Improve our digital services and user experience.

4. Cookies and Web Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to support site performance and understand how visitors interact with our portal.

Optional performance and usage analytics (Vercel Speed Insights and Vercel Web Analytics) are gated and will only load once you have provided explicit affirmative consent. AFRACA uses these aggregated measurements to improve portal reliability, page speed, and content relevance, and does not currently enable additional marketing analytics. Custom engagement events (such as tracking search, filter usage, and document downloads) are similarly restricted and are only logged once consent is active. For a full list of cookies, their purposes, and durations, please refer to our dedicated Cookie Policy.

Some pages also offer Google Maps, Google Docs Viewer, or user-initiated YouTube embeds. Those providers may receive technical request data when their embedded content loads. They are described separately in the Cookie Policy.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, please also remember that we cannot guarantee that the internet itself is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights & Consent Withdrawal

You have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your personal data held in our systems. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. You can change your cookie preferences by clicking the “Manage Preferences” button in the site footer.

7. Contact Us

If you have questions or comments about this policy, you may contact the AFRACA Secretariat.
