John Amimo is the Head of Programmes at the African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA), where he coordinates network and programme activities across member countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. He brings over 15 years of experience in inclusive finance, spanning the design, management, implementation, and reporting of projects funded by international partners including IFAD, UN-FAO, the EU, MEDA, and the Small Foundation.

Prior to joining AFRACA, John held several leadership roles at the Commodities Fund in Kenya, serving first as Fundraising and Partnership Manager and later as Head of Credit. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Financial Alliance for Sustainable Trade (FAST), a global network of social lenders supporting agricultural development in rural communities.

John holds a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Environment Management from Middlesex University, London. He has completed numerous executive courses in Rural and Agricultural Finance at the Boulder Institute of Microfinance in Turin, Italy, and is a certified Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Expert.
