Two days at the Sarova Stanley

The Executive Committee of the African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association convened in Nairobi on 6 August 2026 for its 95th meeting, hosted at the Sarova Stanley Hotel on Kimathi Street. The session runs across two days and is conducted in English and French with simultaneous interpretation, the headsets a familiar fixture of an Association whose membership spans the continent.

The agenda divides cleanly. Day one accounts for the period since the 94th meeting. Day two looks ahead to how AFRACA funds and governs itself through the end of the decade.

Day One

Reports, audited accounts and the Strategic Plan

Proceedings opened with welcome remarks from the Secretary General, a roll call and the Chairperson's opening address, followed by adoption of the agenda and of the minutes of the 94th Executive Committee Meeting together with the matters arising from it.

The Secretary General then presented the report on programme activities, followed by the report on administration and finance. The audit report for the year 2025 was tabled for presentation and questions. The afternoon was given to the Strategic Plan 2026 to 2030 and the budget that supports it.

Day Two

Sustainability model, policies and the constitution

The second day turns to the Association's longer term footing. Before members is a proposed economic and financial sustainability model for 2026 to 2030, alongside a new set of institutional policies and procedures.

A constitutional amendment governing the recruitment, appointment and terms of service of the Secretary General is also tabled. The Committee closes by considering a proposed new AFRACA logo and settling the date and venue of the next Executive Committee Meeting.
