This first progress report details a rapid baseline assessment conducted by AFRACA and FAO on microfinance, credit, and insurance services for small-scale fisheries (SSF) in Africa. It outlines the methodology, including an online survey and stakeholder consultations, to understand the financial service provision landscape for SSF. Key findings highlight the diverse institutional profiles of respondents and the varying financial outreach among financial service providers, primarily in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda.
