A proposal is presented for establishing a national Agricultural Risk Sharing Mechanism Platform in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, inspired by the GIRSAL model implemented in Nigeria, to stimulate lending to agriculture and rural enterprise. It details the strategic justification, the country's institutional readiness, and four core components encompassing policy preparation, risk-sharing instruments, technical assistance, and knowledge management. Key roles are outlined for the Government of the DRC, the Central Bank of the Congo, the African Development Bank as a catalytic funder, and AFRACA as the technical facilitator.
