Focusing on the adaptation of the microfinance sector in Burkina Faso to climate-related financial risks, this presentation details the experience and initiatives of the Réseau des Caisses Populaires du Burkina (RCPB). It outlines the adverse impacts of poor-quality agricultural inputs and climate hazards on rural producers and microfinance institutions, including reduced yields and portfolio degradation. In addition, it highlights specific mitigation measures implemented by the RCPB, such as agricultural intensification credit, a USAID guarantee fund mechanism, green energy loans, and drought insurance.
